Customize your communication preferences

Do you want to receive payment notifications via text message or receive notifications about messages and decisions sent to you by e-mail? Do you want to reduce paper mail and have letters and decisions from the Unemployment Fund delivered to the eService?

We recommend checking and updating your communication settings from the section PERSONAL INFORMATION > CONTACT DATA.

Select ”PERMIT E-MAIL NOTIFICATIONS” to receive notifications of new messages, letters and decisions to your e-mail.
Select ”NOTIFICATION OF PAYMENT BY SMS” to receive payment date notifications via text message. After making this selection, you will not receive separate notifications by post.
Select ”E-LETTERS” if you want to receive all letters only to the eService. If you do not open a decision within seven days, we will send it to you by post.

Suomi.fi Messages will be activated on 1 January 2026 - no impact on communication from the Unemployment Fund

From 1 January 2026, official messages from authorities will mainly be delivered electronically via Suomi.fi Messages. The service will be automatically come into use for all adults who use digital services of authorities.

For example, messages from the employment authority will be delivered to Suomi.fi Messages starting from 1 January 2026.

Suomi.fi Messages will be activated when you log in to an authority's digital service using strong authentication. The eService of Unemployment Fund also uses Suomi.fi authentication which means that Suomi.fi Messages will be activated to all eService users.

However, the activation of Suomi.fi Messages does not affect how you receive messages from the Unemployment Fund. All messages, letters and decisions from the Fund will continue to be delivered according to the communication preferences you have chosen.
