Entrepreneurship
Earnings-related allowance can only be received for the period of part-time entrepreneurial activities.
The employment authority will determine whether your entrepreneurial activities are full-time or part-time activities and issue a statement to the Unemployment Fund. The Fund needs a statement for both new entrepreneurial activities and those already started before unemployment.
If you start a business while unemployed, your business is automatically considered a part-time business for the first 4 months.
If you receive income from a part-time entrepreneurial activity, your earnings-related allowance will be adjusted. Read more about adjusted earnings-related allowance here.
You can receive earnings-related allowance if you work as a light entrepreneur (i.e. through an invoicing service) on a part-time basis. The employment authority will determine whether your entrepreneurial activities are full-time or part-time activities and issue a statement to the Unemployment Fund. The Fund needs a statement for both new entrepreneurial activities and those already started before unemployment.
If you receive income from light entrepreneurship, your earnings-related allowance will be adjusted. You can read more about adjusted earnings-related allowance here.
Report your entrepreneurial activity to the employment authority. A statement on entrepreneurship issued by the employment authority is a prerequisite for payment of allowance.
The activity is automatically considered part-time for the first four months. The income affects your allowance in the same way as wages from part-time work, so submit a monthly statement of your business income to the Unemployment Fund.
Once the entrepreneurial activity has continued for 4 months, the employment authority will examine the scope of the business activity. If the activity is considered part-time, you can continue to apply for earnings-related allowance.
If the activity is considered full-time entrepreneurship, the right to receive earnings-related allowance ends. In that case, check whether you are required to insure yourself at the Entrepreneur Fund.
