Legislative Changes in 2024 - new webpage opened

12.10.2023

The Finnish Government is currently preparing several legislative changes that can affect unemployment benefits and earnings-related allowance. Proposed changes include, for example, extending the waiting period and removing child increases for unemployment benefits.

Based on current information, the legislative changes will be implemented gradually throughout the year 2024. No changes will occur until the new laws come into effect.

We have introduced a new Legislative Changes 2024 section on our website. There you will find up-to-date information on the planned legislative changes as well as their estimated implementation dates. We will update the page as the legislative process progresses in the Parliament.

You can find the new Legislative Changes 2024 section also from the website's top menu under the "News" section.
